Rodents, this page covers the management of rodent infestations. Primarily mice and rats. We use several methods to control rodents. These methods may be the same whether in a residential or commercial location. In some commercial facilities we are limited by USDA, FDA or company policies.

Any good control program will start with finding the source of the problem or point of entry. We will inspect the exterior of the structure to find any gaps 1/4" or larger. We look at all openings from ground level to three feet high. These holes can be sealed with caulk or foam which is reinforced with steel wool. Some times concrete will be needed to level a garage floor to close a gap. If the exclusion is beyond our ability we will provide you with written instructions. If entry points are not sealed the problem will continue and all interior efforts will not show the desired results.

Once entry points are identified and sealed it is time to concentrate on interior control measures. These will include baiting, trapping (snap, glue and multi catch), and dusting with tracking powder.

All rodenticide placements are in tamper resistant bait stations. Large stations for rats, small for mice. These stations lock with a special key and have openings that your resident rodents can fit through to feed. Bait is a hard weather resistant block that has bittering agents, this is a safety feature around children and pets. The large secure block can't be relocated like small pellet baits. This means bait must be eaten to be removed from stations.

A rodent infestation is certainly a health issue, they are vectors for many diseases. One of which is hantavirus. Rodents also eat what we do, and account for millions of dollars of food spoilage in the US annually.

The bait station on top is for rats. The large size is to accommodate the bigger rodent and allow a larger amount of bait to be used.

The mouse station will hold one bait block, which is sufficient to control several mice.
